Creative Goddess Photo Session
My friend and I wanted to explore a creative session. We wanted to explores the concept inspired by the idea of a “Goddess of the Forest”—a figure embodying the delicate balance between life and death, growth and decay. This theme allowed us to explore the nuances of nature’s cycles and and how the opposites both open the door for change and leave space for growth.

Styling for the Goddess of the Forest Concept: Death
We used different elements to capture our concept. Mackenzie was the Goddess of Death. She used dark tones in her dress, make up, and props. We used blue, yellow, and red RGB lights to add interest the the backdrop and make set a moodier vibe. I loved how she incorporated textures like feather cuffs, a lace veil, and woven shawl for depth. There is beauty and nuance in death. A completion to the cycle of life.

Styling for the Goddess of the Forest Concept: Life
As the Goddess of Life, I chose warm earth tones complemented by soft green and purple RGB lighting to evoke a vibrant, nurturing atmosphere. My goal was to create a striking contrast between the dark and moody elements from Death through brighter highlights, achieved through careful adjustments to exposure and lighting. Incorporating organic textures, such as a wooden crown, reinforced the natural theme of growth and renewal. Life is a continuous cycle, marked by the birth of new beginnings, the planting of seeds, and the steady expansion of knowledge.

Final Thoughts
It served as a reminder that beauty often resides in contrast, and that stories are richer when we allow them to explore both the uplifting and the somber. By embracing the Goddess of the Forest and the opposites of life and death, we explored a visual journey that encouraged us to pause, reflect, and consider the delicate equilibrium that shapes our world.
This session aimed to inspire an appreciation for the mysterious interplay of forces that sustain existence. It’s a gentle prompt to look around and see that, in every leaf’s fall and every seed’s sprout, we witness nature’s perpetual cycle—a reminder that endings pave the way for new beginnings.
