Favorite Family Photo Location: Downtown Raleigh

Downtown Raleigh has so much to offer for family photos. If you love architecture, clean lines, and skyline, this might be the right location for your next photo session! Raleigh has both a historical and modern skyline which lets you pick which style you want. Head to the state capitol for clean white marble or choose one of the many murals throughout the city.

Things to love


  1. Little big city: Raleigh is what i personally call a little big city. There's plenty of skyline without all the crazy traffic! It's pretty easy to navigate even if it's your first time downtown. Most parking requires payment but there are plenty of available public lots or street parking. Street parking is cheaper and can visitors can use an app (Passport) to pay online.
  2. Great in any season: The city is pretty consistent since the buildings don't change as frequently as foliage.
  3. Seasonal decor/lights: The city during the winter holidays are so fun because it gives a more festive feel to your session.
  4. Pets are allowed: If properly leashed, you are welcome to bring your pet to the session!
